The Twentyfirst Century

Maureen, her husband and two children have lived in Brighton and Hove since 1985.

Maureen volunteers with MOSAIC, an organisation for Black and mixed race families and individuals.

She loves helping people and at the moment is also helping a friend with her project; the Buyaga-Buwanyang Village Community Resource Centre Project.

 

What’s your favourite place in Brighton and Hove?

Steyning village and also the beach in Brighton.

What would you change about Brighton and Hove?

Make it a bit slower and more tranquil, and have a more relaxed pace.

What living person do you most admire?

Jill Howers, one of the founders of MOSAIC, and Bert Williams, the Chair of Brighton and Hove Black History. I admire their energy and staying power.

What would your motto be?

I did it my way.
