A Collaboration between Brighton
& Hove Black History and The Regency Town House.
Come and find out about Brighton and Hove Black
history during the 18th & 19th Centuries. We are hosting
an exhibition looking into Brighton’s lesser known but
more ethnically diverse history.
Did you know that it was fashionable to hire
small African boys as page boys during the 19th Century?.

Dean Mahomed – ‘Shampooing Surgeon’
to no less than King George IV. . .
or the African Princess,
Sarah Bonnetta who enchanted Queen Victoria? All of these
and more feature prominently in Brighton’s history –
come and find out more at our exhibition.
Exhibition open: Saturday 10th & Sunday
11th May: 11am – 4pm.
Tues 13th - Thurs 15th May: 10am – 3pm
